For Delgaz Grid, ADREM INVEST, in association with MION Electro Consult and Energofanex, carried out complex works to modernize the 20 kV Târgu Ocna – Salina medium voltage overhead power line, an energy infrastructure in operation since the 1970s. The main objective of the project was to maintain and restore the operating parameters of the line, by replacing the components affected by wear and increasing the level of safety in operation.
Located in a mountainous area with difficult relief and limited access, the line serves a critical infrastructure for the Târgu Ocna area. The complexity of the works has been amplified by the fact that the route of the network, made several decades ago on public land, currently crosses numerous private properties resulting from successive changes in the ownership regime.
Within the project, the existing insulation systems were replaced with modern composite equipment, 375 insulators and 825 tensioning chains were installed. Five new separators were also installed together with the related brackets, contributing to increasing flexibility and safety in the operation of the network.
The works also included the rehabilitation of the support infrastructure, by replacing the pillars that had functionality problems, carrying out repair works on the concrete structures and the anti-corrosion protection of the metal elements. 142 brackets and three lattice pillars were painted, and 180 pillars were reinscribed according to the requirements of the distribution operator.
A special chapter of the project was represented by the special works carried out in the crossing areas. The project team replaced some wooden portal poles with 2xSMT 18-2500 type tubular metal poles for the overcrossing of the DN12A national road and the related diversion of the power line, an intervention considered almost unique at the level of medium voltage networks in the region of Moldova. At the same time, for the crossing of the Slănic River, the existing portal poles were replaced with 2xSC 15015 concrete structures, adapted to the operating conditions and current safety requirements.
In order to improve the access and operation of the facilities, the project also included the relocation of PTA 8 Târgu Ocna to the public domain, by relocating and installing a new transformer substation. Although the initial duration of the contract was 12 months, the implementation of the works required an extended period, with the agreement of the beneficiary, as a result of the changes in the design theme and the limited number of scheduled interruptions available annually.
By completing the investment, Delgaz Grid benefits from a modernized infrastructure, capable of operating in increased conditions of safety and reliability. The works contribute to reducing the risk of damages, increasing continuity in the electricity supply and extending the operating life of a line essential for supplying consumers in the area.
