The digital transformation of electricity distribution networks requires the existence of complete databases, updated and correlated with the reality on the ground. In this context, ADREM participated in the implementation of the investment “Realization of a smart distribution system, in a homogeneous area of electricity consumers in the municipality of Galati”, providing specialized services for collecting, verifying and updating the technical data related to the energy infrastructure managed by Distribuție Energie Electrică Romania (DEER).
The project aimed to complete and validate the database of assets used in the operation of electricity grids, as well as to verify the accuracy of existing information through data cleaning activities. The works represented an essential stage in the development of a modern asset management system and in the implementation of concepts specific to smart distribution networks.
Within the contract, the ADREM teams collected the technical data for the components of the electricity networks of all voltage levels in Galati County. The activities included the inventory and documentation of the existing infrastructure, the realization of photographic surveys for the equipment and installations identified in the field, as well as the graphic representation of the electrical networks and the integration of the information in the validation and data management platform used by the beneficiary.
Important resources were mobilized to carry out the activities, including specialists in electrical engineering, modern equipment for collecting geographical coordinates and a fleet dedicated to field interventions. The complexity of the project was determined both by the size of the area covered and by the need to collect a very large volume of technical and topographical information, in varied and often difficult weather conditions.
The data resulting from the project allow the updating and consolidation of the DEER asset database and contribute to the implementation of a high-performance Asset Management System (AMS). By centralizing and standardizing information on the energy infrastructure, the distribution operator benefits from modern tools for planning investments, optimizing maintenance activities and substantiating operational decisions based on accurate and up-to-date information.
The project is a relevant example of contributing to the digitization of energy infrastructure and the development of smart distribution networks, demonstrating ADREM’s ability to manage complex large-scale data collection and integration projects.
