Installation of smart meters for 580,000 consumers in the Delgaz Grid network

The digitization of electricity distribution infrastructure is one of the essential steps in the development of smart grids and in increasing energy efficiency. In this context, ADREM participated in the implementation of a large-scale project aimed at replacing conventional meters and installing smart meters for 580,000 consumers served by Delgaz Grid.

Initially launched as a pilot project, the program was part of a strategic plan for the development of smart metering systems in the region of Moldova and represented one of the most important initiatives to modernize the electricity metering infrastructure in Romania. The main goal of the project was to increase the degree of digitization of the network and to provide accurate and accessible information to both the distribution operator and the end consumers.

By installing the new equipment, users have access to detailed electricity consumption data, updated in a timely manner and presented in a user-friendly format. Smart meters allow consumption to be monitored according to time intervals and usage profile, providing relevant information for optimizing consumption and managing energy costs more efficiently.

In addition to the installation and commissioning activities, ADREM also provided post-implementation services through a Deployment Operations Center. This specialized dispatcher ensured the real-time coordination of activities between technology providers, field teams and the beneficiary, contributing to streamlining the implementation process and maintaining a high level of quality of the services provided.

Through its scale and impact on the digitalization process of electricity grids, the project contributed to the development of smart energy distribution infrastructure and to creating the premises for a more transparent and efficient relationship between the distribution operator and end consumers. The successful implementation of this initiative confirms ADREM’s ability to manage complex large-scale energy infrastructure modernization projects.
